Wool naturally repels dirt, so frequent washing of wool blankets and throws isn't necessary. Wool naturally contains lanolin, which makes it water-repellent. Dirt stays on the surface of the wool, creating a self-cleaning effect.
We recommend airing the blankets outside (preferably under a shelter in humid weather). If you do find it necessary to clean the blankets or throws, always check the care label first! Always use a wool detergent with lanolin. This way the wool fiber retains its softness, resilience and natural self-cleaning properties.
