Klippan was founded in 1879 and strives to produce as sustainably and environmentally friendly as possible. The brand is convinced that trends come and go, but that high quality and natural materials will never go out of fashion. This pursuit has resulted in success in recent years. Over the past five years, energy consumption has fallen by 50% and plastic packaging is now biodegradable. In addition, almost all Klippan blankets and plaids bear the eco quality mark. They also care a lot about the welfare of animals. For that reason, the wool used is mulesing-free*. All wool comes from New Zealand and no chemicals can be found in the crops or in the food the sheep eat. Also, no antibiotic is used during the breeding process. In addition, the wool is free of chemicals and no bleach is used.

* This means that the wool comes from sheep that are treated in an animal-friendly way.

What are the Klippan blankets & plaids made of?

The Klippan plaids and blankets are made of 100% lambswool, merino wool or eco wool. The wool used is wonderfully soft, hypoallergenic, ventilating and feels comfortable. The material is naturally resilient, so that the plaids keep their shape. Wool contains lanolin and is therefore dirt-repellent. Good to know: frequent washing is therefore not necessary. We recommend hanging the blankets outside to air them out. Do you still want to wash the plaids? This can be done by hand or in the washing machine on a wool wash program (30°C), with wool detergent.
