Why do we often recommend a larger size?

Sheepskin slippers are lined with a thick layer of natural wool. This means they fit differently from regular shoes.

It is important not to buy sheepskin products too small. There are several reasons for this:

Optimal insulation. The naturally crimped wool fibres trap an insulating layer of air. This helps keep your feet comfortably warm when it is cold, while the wool helps regulate temperature in warmer conditions.
Longer lifespan. Sheepskin leather is soft and flexible. If a slipper is too tight, extra tension and pressure points can develop in the leather, which may cause it to wear more quickly.
Moisture-regulating comfort. Wool can absorb and release moisture. It needs sufficient space to maintain these natural properties.
Greater comfort. Your toes have enough room to move, making the slippers more comfortable to wear.

Extra tips

✔ Measure both feet. If one foot is larger than the other, use the measurement of the larger foot.

✔ Ideally, measure your feet at the end of the day. Your feet may be slightly larger by then, reducing the chance of choosing a size that is too small.

✔ When measuring, wear the socks you would normally wear with your slippers, if applicable.

What is the Boet sheepskin boot made of?

Only the best materials are used in the production of our sheepskin slippers. Merino sheepskin is very suitable because it regulates moisture, breathes and retains heat well. You can even wear the boots without socks so that the lanolin (wool fat) in the wool can do its job, resulting in wonderfully soft feet.

The rubber sole is not suitable for outdoor use, but it's fine for walking to the letterbox or the container.

Maintenance & use

Care tip

To preserve your sheepskin slippers, we recommend spraying them with a protective spray (not a mousse) before the first use - and regularly thereafter. This protects the product from water and dirt. We recommend the Collonil Active Universal protector for this purpose.
Please note: sheepskin products cannot be washed!

Voor het behoud van je schapenvacht pantoffels en wanten adviseren wij om deze vóór het eerste gebruik - en vervolgens regelmatig - in te sprayen met een beschermende spray (geen mousse). The Texelana Boet is a high slipper boot made of genuine merino sheepskin. The soft fleece envelops both the feet and ankles, providing pleasant warmth and comfort at home.

How does the Texelana Boet sheepskin slipper boot fit in terms of size?

The Texelana Boet runs small. We therefore recommend ordering two sizes larger than your normal shoe size. The thick layer of natural sheep's wool needs enough space to insulate properly and fit comfortably.

Does the Texelana Boet sheepskin slipper boot have a narrow or wide fit?

The Boet has a narrow fit and a narrow shaft. As a result, the slipper boot fits snugly around the foot and ankle. If you have wide feet or a high instep, please take the narrower fit into account.

Can you fold down the shaft of the Texelana Boet sheepskin slipper boot?

Yes. The fur trim can be folded down as desired. This allows you to wear the Boet as a high slipper boot or fold down the shaft for a lower style with a visible sheepskin trim.

Is the Texelana Boet sheepskin slipper boot suitable for cold feet and ankles?

Yes. The high design means that not only your feet, but also your ankles are enveloped in soft merino sheepskin. The wool retains heat while being both breathable and moisture-regulating.

Can you wear the Texelana Boet sheepskin slipper boots barefoot?

Yes. The Boet can be worn perfectly well without socks. Sheep's wool is naturally breathable and moisture-regulating and feels soft against the skin.

Can you walk outside with the Texelana Boet sheepskin slipper boot?

The Boet is primarily intended as an indoor slipper. The sturdy sole is not suitable for structural outdoor use, but popping out to the mailbox or the bins is no problem according to Texelana.

Why is merino sheepskin suitable for warm slippers?

Merino sheepskin retains heat well, but is at the same time breathable and moisture-regulating. The crimped wool fibers trap an insulating layer of air. This keeps your feet comfortably warm without the wool feeling clammy.
