Why do we often recommend a larger size?

Sheepskin slippers are lined with a thick layer of natural wool. This means they fit differently from regular shoes.

It is important not to buy sheepskin products too small. There are several reasons for this:

Optimal insulation. The naturally crimped wool fibres trap an insulating layer of air. This helps keep your feet comfortably warm when it is cold, while the wool helps regulate temperature in warmer conditions.
Longer lifespan. Sheepskin leather is soft and flexible. If a slipper is too tight, extra tension and pressure points can develop in the leather, which may cause it to wear more quickly.
Moisture-regulating comfort. Wool can absorb and release moisture. It needs sufficient space to maintain these natural properties.
Greater comfort. Your toes have enough room to move, making the slippers more comfortable to wear.

Extra tips

✔ Measure both feet. If one foot is larger than the other, use the measurement of the larger foot.

✔ Ideally, measure your feet at the end of the day. Your feet may be slightly larger by then, reducing the chance of choosing a size that is too small.

✔ When measuring, wear the socks you would normally wear with your slippers, if applicable.

Crafted from reverse merino sheepskin; soft fur on the inside and supple sheep leather on the outside.
Spacious instep for easy on and off.
The shaft can be worn up or down. The total height with a raised shaft is approx. 16 cm.
Fitted with a supple cowhide leather sole. It is not advisable to walk outside with slippers that have a leather sole.

In some cases, the suede of the shaft end/or sole is slightly darker or lighter in color.

What is the slipper Hors made of?

The Hors sheepskin slippers are made from only natural materials. The slipper is made of merino sheepskin and the sole is made of supple cowhide leather. The fur on the inside retains heat perfectly and warms your feet. You do not suffer from clammy feet due to the excellent moisture regulation that is characteristic of wool. The skin is pleasantly softened by the natural lanolin (wool fat). So feel free to wear the sheepskin slippers without stockings or socks. The supple leather of the slippers ensures optimal wearing comfort.

Maintenance & use

Maintenance tip

To preserve your sheepskin slippers, we recommend spraying them with a protective spray (no mousse) before the first use - and then regularly. This protects the product against water and dirt. We recommend the Collonil Active Universal protector for this. Please note: sheepskin products cannot be washed!
