The solution against cold feet? Sheepskin wool slippers!

Cold feet are not only very unpleasant, but often also difficult to get warm again. A tricky and common problem. Slippers that are warm, moisture-regulating and breathable offer the solution. Texelana has over 30 years of experience with sheepskin slippers. We would like to explain to you why these slippers in particular offer a solution.

The moment you step into soft sheepskin, you feel it immediately: warmth and comfort in a unique blend.

Why do sheepskin slippers help with cold feet?
Sheepskin slippers have special properties. Wool insulates extremely well and naturally regulates moisture. The wool fibres contain many tiny curls (about 20 per cm), which trap air effectively. This air layer is essential for insulation and also helps transport moisture away from the skin. Absorbed moisture evaporates easily, keeping your feet warm and dry instead of clammy.
Thanks to their high insulation value, sheepskin slippers retain warmth exceptionally well. If your feet are cold, we recommend warming them by rubbing or walking briefly. Once blood circulation improves, your feet warm up faster – and the slippers maintain that warmth perfectly.

The power of sheepskin

  • The curled fibres create tiny air pockets that trap warmth.

  • The open and airy structure lets excess heat escape.

  • Wool absorbs moisture and releases it again – truly unique.

  • Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture and allow it to evaporate. Essential for preventing cold, clammy feet.

The result: warm feet.

Compared to synthetic materials like fleece or polyester, which do not absorb moisture (or trap it), wool keeps your feet warm instead of cold and damp.

Conclusion: Sheepskin is unique – and therefore the best solution for cold feet. No synthetic material can match the combination of warmth, insulation, ventilation, softness and moisture regulation.

Good to know!

Choosing the right size is important. Sheepskin works best when the slipper isn’t too tight. If the wool is compressed too much, its insulating and moisture-regulating abilities are reduced. The tiny air pockets in the curled fibres are what make sheepskin so effective.

Also note that sheepskin leather is more delicate than cow leather. That’s why we use cow leather (or rubber) for the soles. When a slipper is too tight, pressure points can arise, weakening the leather and seams. The right size ensures longer durability. You’ll find size advice listed with each of our sheepskin slippers.

Tip!
Sheepskin slippers are perfect to wear barefoot. A small amount of natural lanolin remains in the wool after tanning, which gently cares for your skin.
