Description

The ideal shirt you can wear time and time again

The Devold Classic Longsleeve shirt, made from merino wool, is a wonderful base layer for any season. The soft merino wool is breathable, regulates your body temperature and wicks away moisture without feeling clammy. What’s more, merino wool is naturally odour-resistant, so the shirt stays fresh for longer. Ideal for walking, cycling and travelling, but also simply as an extra warm layer on cold days. Super-soft, warm and functional!

Specifications & material

  • 100% merino wool
  • Soft, made from the longest merino fibres
  • Fit: regular
  • Weight: 180 gr. (size L)
  • Weight in gr./m²: 150 gr./m²
  • Micron: 17.5
  • Mulesing free / Oeko-Tex / eco-label / REACH

Care

Washing instructions: max. 40°C on wool cycle. Always check the washing instructions on the label inside the garment.

Wool is a great material for making clothes because it is antibacterial and odor resistant. Woolen clothing therefore does not need to be washed often. Occasionally hang the garment outside to freshen up. If you still want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent . When hand washing, never rub hard to avoid felting. Always check the label in the garment for the washing instructions. Always let woolen clothes dry flat.

If you treat your wool garment in this way, it will not only stay nicer and last longer. You also save the environment by airing instead of washing.

Washing instructions

Wool is a great material for clothing because it is antibacterial and odor-resistant. Therefore, wool clothing does not need to be washed often. Hang the garment outside occasionally to freshen it up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent. When hand washing, never rub hard to prevent felting. Always check the label in the garment for washing instructions. Always dry wool clothing flat.

If you treat your wool garment this way, it will not only stay looking better and last longer. By airing instead of washing, you also protect the environment.

Storing wool clothing

We recommend storing your wool clothing clean, possibly with a sachet of lavender; this keeps moths away. It's also best to store wool clothing flat, so that the elasticity of the wool is not affected.

Pilling and fuzz

Wool can pill or fuzz with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that mainly occurs due to friction. Wool consists of many hairs with a natural crimp (curls). Friction can cause the wool to pill and felt. When felting, the hairs join together due to friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will often find fuzz/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

With new clothing, there may sometimes be some loose hairs left over after the weaving and knitting process.

Unfortunately, pilling and fuzz on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing cannot be prevented. We have some tips to delay this process somewhat and how to remove fuzz and pills. For this information, we gladly refer you to our blog.
