Care

Washing instructions: hand wash. Gently reshape and dry flat. Always check the care label inside the garment for washing instructions.

Wool is an excellent material for clothing because it is antibacterial and odor-resistant. Therefore, wool clothing does not need to be washed frequently. Hang the garment outside occasionally to freshen it up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend using Texelana Wool Detergent. When hand washing, never rub vigorously to prevent felting. Always check the care label inside the garment for washing instructions. Always dry wool clothing flat.

If you treat your wool garment in this way, it will not only stay looking better and last longer, but airing it instead of washing it also benefits the environment.

Storing wool clothing

We recommend storing your wool clothing clean, possibly with a sachet of lavender; this keeps moths away. It's also best to store wool clothing flat to prevent affecting the wool's elasticity.

Pilling and fuzz

Wool can pill or fuzz with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that mainly occurs due to friction. Wool consists of many fibers with a natural crimp (curls). Friction can cause the wool to pill and felt. When felting, the fibers join together due to friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will therefore often find fuzz/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

With new clothing, there may sometimes still be some loose fibers remaining after the weaving and knitting process.

Unfortunately, pilling and fuzz on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing cannot be prevented. We have some tips to somewhat delay this process and how to remove fuzz and pills. For this information, please refer to our blog.

Storing wool clothing

Pilling and fuzz

Wool can pill or fuzz with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that mainly occurs due to friction. Wool consists of many hairs with a natural crimp (curls). Due to friction, the wool can pill and felt. When felting, the hairs join together due to friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will therefore often find the fuzz/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

With new clothing, there may sometimes also be some loose hairs left over after the weaving and knitting process.

Pilling and fuzz on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing is unfortunately unavoidable. We have some tips to delay this process somewhat and how to remove the fuzz and pills. For this information, we refer to our blog.
