This wool is the result of a complex selection of naturally available shades, which are blended to create a range of natural colours without the use of dyes, chemicals, or water. This authentic product is 100% natural and environmentally friendly.

Washing instructions

Wool is a great material for clothing because it is antibacterial and odour-resistant. Wool clothing therefore does not need to be washed often. Hang the garment outside occasionally to freshen it up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent. When hand washing, never rub vigorously to prevent felting. Always check the label in the garment for washing instructions. Always dry wool clothing flat.

If you treat your wool garment this way, it will not only stay looking better and last longer. By airing it instead of washing, you also protect the environment.

Storing wool clothing

We recommend storing your wool clothing clean, possibly with a sachet of lavender; this keeps moths away. It is also best to store wool clothing flat so that the elasticity of the wool is not affected.

Pilling and fuzz

Wool can pill or fuzz with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that mainly occurs due to friction. Wool consists of many hairs with a natural crimp (curls). Due to friction, the wool can pill and felt. When felting, the hairs combine due to friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will therefore often find the fuzz/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

With new clothing, there may sometimes still be some loose hairs left after the weaving and knitting process.

Pilling and fuzz on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing are unfortunately unavoidable. We have some tips to somewhat delay this process and how to remove the fuzz and pills. For this information, we refer to our blog.
