The Devold Bomber Jacket is a classic from the archive, re-released in 100% wool. The iconic bomber style originated with pilots from World War I and later grew into a timeless garment.

Devold breathes new life into the jacket with a sturdy, warm wool quality, finished with a ribbed collar and cuffs and practical pockets. Tough, functional, and especially made to be worn for years. A tough and comfortable jacket for women and men!

Care

Washing instructions: hand wash. Gently pull into shape and lay flat to dry. Always refer to the label inside the garment for washing instructions.

Wool is an excellent material for clothing because it is antibacterial and odour-resistant. Therefore, wool clothing does not need to be washed frequently. Air the garment occasionally to freshen it up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent. When hand washing, never rub hard to prevent felting. Always refer to the label inside the garment for washing instructions. Always lay wool clothing flat to dry.

If you treat your wool garment in this way, it will not only stay looking better and last longer. By airing instead of washing, you also help the environment.

Storing wool clothing

We recommend storing your wool clothing clean, possibly with a sachet of lavender; this keeps moths at bay. It is also best to store wool clothing flat, so that the elasticity of the wool is not affected.

Pilling and bobbles

Wool can pill or bobble with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that mainly occurs due to friction. Wool consists of many fibres with a natural crimp (curls). Due to friction, the wool can pill and felt. During felting, the fibres join together due to friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will therefore often find bobbles/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

With new clothing, there may sometimes still be some loose fibres left after the weaving and knitting process.

Unfortunately, pilling and bobbles on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing cannot be prevented. We have some tips to delay this process somewhat and how to remove the bobbles and pills. For this information, please refer to our blog.
