Why do we often recommend a larger size?

Sheepskin slippers are lined with a thick layer of natural wool. This means they fit differently from regular shoes.

It is important not to buy sheepskin products too small. There are several reasons for this:

Optimal insulation. The naturally crimped wool fibres trap an insulating layer of air. This helps keep your feet comfortably warm when it is cold, while the wool helps regulate temperature in warmer conditions.
Longer lifespan. Sheepskin leather is soft and flexible. If a slipper is too tight, extra tension and pressure points can develop in the leather, which may cause it to wear more quickly.
Moisture-regulating comfort. Wool can absorb and release moisture. It needs sufficient space to maintain these natural properties.
Greater comfort. Your toes have enough room to move, making the slippers more comfortable to wear.

Extra tips

✔ Measure both feet. If one foot is larger than the other, use the measurement of the larger foot.

✔ Ideally, measure your feet at the end of the day. Your feet may be slightly larger by then, reducing the chance of choosing a size that is too small.

✔ When measuring, wear the socks you would normally wear with your slippers, if applicable.

Model Wier is warm, comfortable and stylish down to the smallest detail. The subtle finish gives this model a contemporary look, while the soft sheepskin and sturdy sole provide the familiar comfort you can expect from a Premium model.

This slipper is part of our Premium range. This means it is made from extra-thick, high-quality sheepskin and features a strong, flexible sole. Comfortable for everyday wear and suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Seaweed (wier) has been washing up along the Texel coast for centuries. In the past, it was collected and stored in special seaweed barns before being used for purposes such as mattress filling. A fascinating piece of Texel history and a fitting nod to the comfortable feel of this Premium slipper.

Made of real sheepskin; soft fur on the inside and supple suede on the outside.

Sheepskin regulates temperature and has breathability. The premium loafers are equipped with a sturdy, flexible sole. Thanks to the special tanning of the skin and the strong sole, these slippers are ideal for wearing outdoors. These premium loafers combine functionality with an elegant and timeless design.

What are the Wier Premium slippers made of?

These shoes or slippers are made from genuine, high-quality sheepskin. The sole is made of sturdy material (EVA) and bends flexibly. Sheepskin is ideal because it regulates moisture, is breathable and retains heat well. You can even wear the slippers without socks so that the lanolin (wool grease) in the wool can do its job, resulting in wonderfully soft feet.

Onderhoud & gebruik

Maintenance tip

To preserve your sheepskin products, we recommend spraying them with a protective spray (not mousse) before first use and then regularly. This protects the product against water and dirt. We recommend Collonil Active Universal protector for this. Please note: sheepskin products cannot be washed!

Voor het behoud van je schapenvacht pantoffels en wanten adviseren wij om deze vóór het eerste gebruik - en vervolgens regelmatig - in te sprayen met een beschermende spray (geen mousse). Dit beschermt het product tegen water en vuil. Wij adviseren hiervoor de Collonil Active Universal protector of de ShoeSustain Universal protector spray te gebruiken. Let op: producten van schapenvacht kunnen niet worden gewassen!
