Wool naturally has a dirt-repellent property, which is why it is not necessary to wash wool blankets and throws often. Wool naturally contains lanolin, which makes the wool water-repellent; dirt remains on the surface of the wool, giving it a self-cleaning effect.
We recommend airing the blankets outdoors (preferably when the weather is damp). If you do feel it is necessary to clean the blankets or throws, always check the care label first! Use a wool detergent containing lanolin. This helps the wool fiber retain its softness, resilience, and natural self-cleaning properties.
