NLS - New level of sustainability
Ivanhoe of Sweden is proud of this new line of products made from a completely natural, undyed wool quality. This wool is the result of a complex selection of naturally available shades, which are blended to create a range of natural colors without the use of dyes, chemicals, or water. This authentic product is 100% natural and environmentally friendly.
Washing instructions
Wool is a great material for clothing because it is antibacterial and odor-resistant. Therefore, wool clothing does not need to be washed often. Hang the garment outside occasionally to freshen it up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent. When hand washing, never rub hard to prevent felting. Always check the washing instructions on the label inside the garment. Always dry wool clothing flat.
If you treat your wool garment this way, it will not only stay beautiful and last longer. By airing instead of washing, you also save the environment.
Storing wool clothing
We recommend storing your wool clothing clean, possibly with a sachet of lavender; this keeps moths away. It is also best to store wool clothing flat so that the elasticity of the wool is not affected.
Pilling and lint
Wool can pill or lint with use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that mainly occurs due to friction. Wool consists of many hairs with a natural crimp (curls). Due to friction, the wool can pill and felt. When felting, the hairs join together due to friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will therefore often find lint/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.
With new clothing, some loose hairs may sometimes still be left after the weaving and knitting process.
Unfortunately, pilling and lint on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing cannot be prevented. We have some tips on how to delay this process somewhat and how to remove the lint and pills. For this information, please refer to our blog.
About Ivanhoe of Sweden
The family business Ivanhoe was founded in 1946 in Gällstad, a district known as the knitting center of Sweden, where tradition and entrepreneurial spirit still thrive. Several generations of experience and competence result in the continuous development of basic and functional clothing. Classic materials such as wool and cotton are always found in the collections, but they also work with new blends, treatments, or knitting and weaving techniques.
