Soft wool poncho

This trendy and comfortable vest is made from Gällstad Teddy: a new quality of boiled wool with a soft, fluffy teddy structure. The poncho has a long zipper, making it easy to put on and take off. The high collar provides extra warmth and comfort around the neck. Equipped with convenient pockets with zippers. The drawstring at the waist allows you to easily adjust the shape of the vest, wearing it looser or more fitted as desired.

The Gällstad Teddy fabric is part of a special anniversary collection, combining craftsmanship, wool, and contemporary Scandinavian design.

Specifications & material

  • Material: 100% undyed wool, wool teddy
  • 450gr./m²
  • Mulesing-free wool, Bluesign® certified yarn

The fabric is developed in Gällstad's knitting department and combines the natural properties of wool with a warm, contemporary look.

Care

Washable at max. 30°C on a wool wash program. Always check the label in the garment for washing instructions.

Wool is a nice material to make clothes from because it is antibacterial and odor-resistant. Wool clothing therefore does not need to be washed often. Hang the garment outside occasionally so that it can freshen up. If you do want to wash the garment, we recommend Texelana Wool Detergent . Never rub hard when hand washing, to prevent felting. Always check the label in the garment for the washing instructions. Always let wool clothing dry flat.

If you treat your wool garment in this way, it will not only stay nicer and last longer, but by airing instead of washing, you also save the environment.

Pills and fluff

Wool can pill or fluff through use. This has nothing to do with the quality of the wool. Pilling is a natural phenomenon that is mainly caused by friction. Wool consists of many hairs with a natural crimp (curls). Friction can cause the wool to pill and felt. With felting, the hairs join together through friction. In fact, every movement causes friction. You will often find the fluff/pills on the sleeves and under the armpits.

New clothing may sometimes still have some loose hairs left behind after the weaving and knitting process.

Pills and fluff on your beautiful (merino) wool clothing are unfortunately unavoidable. We have some tips to delay this process somewhat and how to remove the fluff and pills. For this information we refer you to our blog.

About Ivanhoe of Sweden

The family business Ivanhoe was founded in 1946 in Gällstad, a district known as the knitting center of Sweden, where tradition and entrepreneurial drive still thrive. Several generations of experience and competence result in the continuous development of basic and functional clothing. Classic materials such as wool and cotton are always found in the collections, but they also work with new blends, treatments, or knitting and weaving techniques.
