Why do we often recommend a larger size?

Wool felt slippers have a different fit from regular shoes. Wool felt is firm and moulds slightly to your foot as you wear it, but it only stretches to a limited extent. That is why it is important for the slippers to provide enough room from the start.

A slightly roomier fit is important for the following reasons:

Optimal insulation. Wool fibres naturally trap air. This insulating layer of air helps keep your feet warm when it is cold, while wool remains breathable at the same time.
Moisture-regulating comfort. Wool can absorb and release moisture. Sufficient room around the foot contributes to a pleasant and dry environment inside the slipper.
More comfort. Your toes should be able to move freely and should not touch the front of the slipper. This ensures a comfortable fit, including while walking.
Maintaining the fit and a longer lifespan. Wool felt moulds to your foot as you wear it, but it does not stretch like soft leather, for example. A slipper that is too small will therefore not naturally become sufficiently roomier. Choosing a size that is too small can also increase wear.

Extra tips

✔ Measure both feet. Is one foot larger than the other? Use the larger foot as your guide.

✔ Preferably measure your feet at the end of the day. Your feet will have expanded slightly from walking, reducing the chance of choosing a size that is too small.

✔ When measuring, you can also wear the socks that you would normally wear with your slippers.

The size recommendation is a guideline

A size recommendation is always a guideline and not a guarantee. Fit and sizing can vary between brands and models. Therefore, always check the specific size recommendation on the product page.

Description

Glerups wool felt slipper with rubber sole

This model is being discontinued, so it’s now 20% off!

This Glerups slipper is handmade and made of 100% wool felt. The slippers have a honey colored nature rubber sole with a profile. The sole is non-slip and great to use on a damp surface, for example to walk outside after it has rained. Natural materials, high-quality workmanship and a minimalist design make this felt shoe unique.

Wool felt keeps the feet warm and regulates the foot climate. To optimally feel the natural properties of wool on your skin, we recommend wearing wool felt shoes or slippers with bare feet.

Sole

Honey-coloured natural rubber with a tread pattern. Sturdy and ideal for a quick walk outside. The rubber sole of this slipper isn’t flat, but slightly arched, allowing you to roll your foot naturally.

Maintenance & use

How to clean and maintain your Glerups

1. As wool is naturally self-cleaning, your Glerups will remain fresh if you simply air them out and give them a rest.

2. To remove stains, we recommend gently dabbing the stain with a lightly damp cloth and wool detergent. You may need to repeat this a few times, but always ensure the slippers are dry before trying again.

3. Dust can be removed by vacuuming or blowing out your Glerups. Leather soles can be brushed and cleaned with a leather brush.

4. Rubber soles can be wiped with a damp cloth – make sure they can dry thoroughly after cleaning.

5. Be careful; natural rubber or leather soles can be slippery on wet and icy surfaces such as tiles.

6. All Glerups uppers are made from 100% pure and natural wool, which means colour variations may occur between different production runs.

7. Your Glerups will usually shed some lint within the first 3-4 weeks of wear, which creates a long-lasting comfortable feel for years to come. This is normal due to the natural treatment of this wool. Simply remove the shedding fibres and discard them as desired.
