Maintenance tip
To preserve your sheepskin slippers, we recommend spraying them with a protective spray (not mousse) before first use - and then regularly. This protects the product against water and dirt. We recommend the Collonil Active Universal protector for this. Please note: sheepskin products cannot be washed!
What is the Mikka fur boot made of?
Only the best materials are used for the production of our sheepskin products. Sheepskin is very suitable because it regulates moisture, breathes and retains heat well. You can even wear the boots without socks so that the lanolin (wool fat) in the wool can do its work, resulting in wonderfully soft feet.
Sizing advice
Choosing the right size requires the necessary attention. There are two reasons for this:
1. Creating an air layer. Wool has unique properties, but these only come into their own when there is sufficient air between the coat and the skin. This makes it possible to remove any perspiration and at the same time keep your feet warm and dry.
2. Suppleness of sheepskin. Sheep leather, in contrast to cowhide leather, is a lot more flexible and softer. This also makes the material more vulnerable. A foot in a fur boot that is too small creates pressure points that can cause premature wear.
To wear the right fur boots, we recommend ordering this model two sizes larger than your own shoe size. The sheepskin and sloping toe make the boots smaller. Do you have half a shoe size? Then round this down and then follow the size advice. Example: you have shoe size 38.5. Around this down = size 38. Follow the size advice +2, you order the boots in size 40.
